Jack grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, then graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. Jack married Therese Clinch of North Platte, NE. He began his career with Horner-Lieske-Horner in 1980. Jack is a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney, Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce (Chairman of the Board in 2006), Kearney Elks Lodge #984 (Past Exalted Ruler), Knights of Columbus, Tehama Shrine and Scottish Rite of Hastings and Rob Morris Masonic Lodge of Kearney. Therese Horner is active in the Buffalo County 4-H program.

Ron was raised in Upland, NE and graduated from Upland High School. He attended Kearney State College, then graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. He began his career in 1965. He married Joyce Koch of Upland, NE. Ron is a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, has served on the Good Samaritan Hospital Board, Kearney Sertoma Club and the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce. Joyce Lieske recently retired as the Volunteer Coordinator at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Mark grew up in Minden, NE, and graduated from Minden High School. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Services. He married Jennifer Schneider of Heartwell, NE. He began his career with Horner-Lieske-Horner in 1995. Mark is a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Kearney, Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce (Sport and Recreation Committee), Kearney Noon Kiwanis (Past President), Kearney Ducks Unlimited, Kearney Catholic Foundation GOLD and the Kearney Youth Hockey Association. Jennifer McBride is a physical therapist with New West Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation in Kearney.

Spencer was raised in Milligan, NE, and graduated from Milligan High School. He attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and graduated from Kansas City Mortuary College. He previously worked in Lincoln, NE, and Franklin, NE, as a funeral director before joining Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in 2006. He is married to Sarah Kohler of Geneva, NE. Spencer is a member of First United Methodist Church, American Red Cross Board, Kearney Elks Lodge #984, Kearney Area Shooting Sports Association, Kearney Rotary On the Bricks and Young Professionals Network. Sarah Kuhl works for the Lovas Institute as an ABA therapist, providing therapy for local children who have been diagnosed with autism.

Jack Horner, Sr. (1926 – 2008)
Jack grew up in the Riverdale, Amherst, and Miller areas, then graduated from Kearney High School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He attended Kearney State College and then graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science and began his career in 1951. Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kearney, American Legion Post #52, V.F.W. Post #759, Golden K Kiwanis Club, Kearney Elks Lodge #984 (Past Exalted Ruler), Tehama Shrine and Scottish Rite of Hastings, Rob Morris Masonic Lodge in Kearney. He also served on the Kearney Public Schools Foundation Board and the Kearney Humane Society Board. His wife, Kay Horner, is involved in many community organizations including the Museum of Nebraska Art.

Michelle grew up in North Platte, NE and graduated from North Platte St. Pat’s High School. She graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, KS with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She has previously worked as a social worker/bereavement coordinator for Prairie Haven Hospice in Scottsbluff, NE. She was trained by Dr. Alan Wolfeldt at the “Center for Loss and Life Transition” in Ft. Collins in grief and bereavement. She was trained in children’s grief issues from the Centering Corporation in Omaha, NE. She is married to Roger Green, who works at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Al born and raised in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School and Kearney State College. He is married to Jan Baker who is an Information Technology Officer for Platte Valley State Bank in Kearney. During his career, Al has been associated with Spelts Lumber Company, Overhead Door and is currently associated with Ward Laboratories. Al started with Horner-Lieske-Horner in 2008 and is responsible for pre-funeral planning, aftercare services, and monument sales. He is a member of First Lutheran Church in Kearney, Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Ft. Kearney Shooting Sports Association.

Dan grew up on a farm near Plymouth, NE and graduated from Tri-County High School. In addition to pre-need Funeral Counseling he also raises cattle. He has been assisting families with pre-planning funerals for over 10 years and specifically in the Kearney area for the past 9 years. Dan and his wife Lori have been married for 12 years and have 3 children. He is active with his church, is a 4-H leader and an avid Husker football fan

Brock is originally from Pierce, NE and is a current student at the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the Pre Mortuary Program and will get a degree in Business Administration. He graduated from Pierce High School in 2008. His father (Todd Stonacek) and grandfather (Bill Stonacek) own and operate Funeral Homes in Norfolk, Osmond, and Pierce. He is active in various organizations at UNK and attends the Lutheran Church. Brock will attend Mortuary College after graduating from UNK. Brock helps with Visitations and Funeral Services while completing his Intern program.
