Frank H. Starkey, Jr., age 83, of Kearney died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Gary Main will officiate and burial will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Frank was born on July 28, 1929 in Columbus, NE to Louise (Swacker) and Frank Henry Starkey, Sr. He attended Columbus High School and graduated with the class of 1947. He married Dorothy Jean Burhoop on December 25, 1950 in York, NE. Frank worked the majority of his life as an Electronics Technician for GTE. He was a member of the Kearney First United Methodist Church, Kearney Eagles Lodge #2722 and also the communications workers of America. Frank enjoyed working on his house and tending to his yard. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include his Sons, Randal Starkey of Bellvue, CO, Gregory Starkey, of Bellvue, CO and Roger Starkey and his wife Donna of Kearney; Daughters, Joan Gifford of Kearney and Linda Starkey of Kearney; Sister, Eleanor Wozny of Grinell, IA; 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren

Frank was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Dorothy; Son, Douglas; and Sister, Maxine Ferris.
