Luella M. Kutsch, 82, of Kearney died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. Funeral services will be Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney with Pastor Duane Duley officiating. Burial will follow at the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials are suggested to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice, care of the family. Luella was born on June 1, 1930 to Ralph and Clara (Mueller) Lammers in Pleasanton, NE. She graduated from Riverdale High School in 1947 and then briefly attended college. Luella married Lloyd L. Kutsch on June 4, 1950 at the Peake Church north of Riverdale. The couple farmed in the Amherst and Sumner areas until 1966, and moved to Kearney in 1976. Luella worked a number of jobs including Mother Hull Home, Kaufmann’s craft department, the Buffalo county Assessor’s office and also Hardee’s. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney, the Holy Cross Quilters club and Midway Kensington Club. Luella enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and quilting; especially with the Holy Cross ladies. She also enjoyed time spent with family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include her Son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Joy Kutsch, of Kearney; Daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Catterson, of Kearney; Grandchildren, Timothy and Tanya Catterson, Scott and Sharon Catterson, Robert Kutsch, Teddy Kutsch and friend Tammy; 5 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Robert Lammers of Los Gatos, CA; Sisters, Nora Erickson of Kearney, NE; Arlene Lammers of Glenwood, IA.

Luella was preceded in death by her Husband, Lloyd in 1998; Son, Ronald Kutsch in 1988; Brother, Walter Lammers; Sisters, Rumilda Hemenway and Martha Hadwiger.
