Myrtle A. Deist, 73, of Henderson, NV, formerly of Kearney and Hastings, died Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. Memorial services will be Saturday, January 5, 2012 at 9:00 am at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Pastor Michelle Reed will officiate and burial will follow at Kearney Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Myrtle was born on September 8, 1939 in Kearney, NE to George A. and Pearl Amy (Penny) Crowell. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1958. Myrtle then attended Peru State College and also Kearney State Teachers College where she earned a Masters Degree in education. Myrtle taught school for 25 years in Nebraska and 10 years in Nevada. She married Marvin Gerald Deist on August 20, 1961 in Kearney.
Myrtle is survived by her husband of 51 years, Marvin Gerald Deist; Son, David Allen Deist of Axtell, NE; Daughter, Elaine Marthe’ (Deist) Milteer and son-in-law Byron Louis Milteer of Warner Robins, GA; Grandson, Joshua Louis Milteer; Granddaughter, Georgia Aleece Milteer; Grandson, Elijah Noah Milteer; Brother, Albert Crowell and sister-in-law Beverly Crowell of Elm Creek, NE; Sisters, Florence Schmidt and brother-in-law Lavern of Marshfield, MO, and Doris Meeks of Sacramento, CA and many nieces and nephews.
Myrtle was preceded in death by an infant Son, Daniel Lee Deist; her parents; Brothers, Robert Crowell, Patrick Crowell, Mike Crowell; Sister, Reba Crowell.
