A. Doug Merryman, 55, of Kearney died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at his home in Kearney.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney. Rev. Eric Lesher will officiate and burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to services Friday morning. Memorials are suggested to the First Lutheran Church in Kearney. He was born March 4, 1957 in Kearney to Nelson “Buzz” and E. Sue (Hather) Merryman. He grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1976 then graduated from Kearney State College.

Doug lived most of his life in Kearney and worked at various occupations.

Surviving relatives include his father; Nelson “Buzz” Merryman and friend Marcia Smith of Kearney and sister; Lori Lin Rivera and friend Karl Sickinger of Olney, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 2009.
