Inez I. Albrecht
Inez I. Albrecht, 87, of Kearney died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Kearney. Rev. Eric Lesher will officiate and burial will follow services at the Kearney Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church. Inez was born on June 27, 1925 in Gandy, NE to Fred and Kelpie (McCain) Johnson. She graduated from Logan High School in 1943 as the Valedictorian of her class. Shortly after graduation she moved to Kearney. She married Harold Albrecht on November 9, 1946 in Kearney. Inez taught school for one term and then worked as a bookkeeper for a number of businesses in the Kearney area including Nebraska Propane supply, Jack Ledderman & Co. and REA. She also worked for the Central Contracting Corporation for over 19 years. After retirement in 1988 she and Harold enjoyed several years in Carlsbad, California during the winter months. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church. Inez was a very active member of the BPO Does, serving as President in 1970 and also as Queen in 1980. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and belonged to 3 Bridge groups. She was a past member of the 600 Bowling Club, Womens Bowling Congress, Buffalo Ridge golf club and Meadowlark Hills golf club. Inez achieved the rare feat of scoring a “Hole In One” twice in her lifetime.
Inez is survived by her husband, Harold Albrecht; Son, Richard Albrecht and his wife Kaye Linn of Kearney; Son, Dennis Albrecht of Kearney; Sister, Virginia Lindstrom of Holdrege; 2 Grandchildren, Molly Albrecht of Rapid City, SD and John Albrecht of Los Angeles, CA.
Inez was preceded in death by her Parents; Brothers, Art, Gene and Harry; Sisters, Mildred Leach and Mable Johnson.
