Raymond P. Pruneda, 55, of Kearney died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney. Father Paul Colling will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a Vigil Wake Service at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Kearney Catholic High School Tuitiion Assistance Fund. He was born February 16, 1957 in Maxwell, Texas to Anselmo and Ninfa (Perez) Pruneda. At the age of 10 his mother died and he was raised by Anna Marie and Bud Crocker in Kearney. He was a proud graduate of Kearney Catholic High School in 1975.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 28 years until retiring for health reasons.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney. He was also a member of the amateur Radio Club of Kearney, liked to attend auctions, garage sales and he collected railroad memorabilia. He also enjoyed spending time with family and followed UNK and UNL athletics.
Surviving relatives include brothers; Lee and wife Aggie Pruneda of Lincoln, NE, John Pruneda of Dallas, TX, Anselmo Pruneda, Jr. of Amarillo, TX, sisters; Carol and husband Bob Rott of Grand Island, NE, Mary Adams of Fremont, NE and Molly Langemeier of Norfolk, NE. He is also survived by foster brothers; Jim and wife Becky Crocker of Kearney, Steve and wife Joene Crocker of Kearney, Bob Crocker of Kearney and Bill and wife Julie Crocker of Shakopee, MN and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
