Grace L. Vollmer, age 91, of Kearney died Saturday, December 17, 2011 at her home. 

Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kearney Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Mike Shields officiating.  Burial will follow at Kearney Cemetery with Rev. Clarence Patterson.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.  Memorials are suggested to the Kearney Evangelical Free Church or the Kearney Children’s Museum.  A message of condolence, tribute or memory can be left at www.hlmkfuneral.com.  Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements. 

Grace was born on July 18, 1920 in Riverdale, NE to Arthur and Louise (Wermuth) Walter.  She married Miles Edward Vollmer on October 28, 1944 in Kearney.  She graduated from Kearney High School and then attended Kearney State Teachers College where she earned her Teachers Certificate.  Grace taught school for several years and then helped Miles on the farm.  She was a member of the Kearney Evangelical Free Church, Hickson Chicks Square Dance Club and also the Elizabeth Valley Kensington.  Grace enjoyed gardening and also raising dairy cattle.
