LeRoy “Slim” Hancock, 73, of Kearney, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Private family services will be held at a later date. LeRoy was born November 4, 1938 in Boulder, Colorado to J. Monroe and Eva (Thomas) Hancock. He attended school in Colorado. He married Frances Miller on September 23, 1962 in Kearney. They later divorced. While in Kearney he worked at Eatons, Baldwins, and Coleman Powermate. He also delivered the Omaha World Herald in Kearney and managed the Kearney Bus Depot. He was kind to everyone he met and would give you the shirt off of his back. Slim was a firm believer in Ecclesiastes 3:1 & 2 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die. He is now in heaven with his lord Jesus Christ.
