Beverly J. Johnson, 93, of Kearney, died Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Mother Hull Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney with Rev. Gary Main officiating. Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Beverly was born July 16, 1918 in Minden to John S. and Hazel (Brainard) Westesen. She graduated from Minden High School in 1935. After high school she moved to California and helped build airplanes for WW II. She then moved to Denver and worked as a secretary. After living in Denver, she moved back to Minden and worked and worked in the A.S.C. office. She married Norris C. Johnson on March 17, 1949 in Kearney. They farmed south of Kearney until 1980. In retirement Beverly and Norris enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kearney and the Christian Women’s Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sister Jeannine and her husband Eugene “Tuny” Nickel, 1 infant sister, 2 Sister-in-law Ardis and her husband Harlan Stanford, and Vi Johnson.
