Robert L. McBride, 81, of Kearney and formerly of Minden died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney. 

Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney.  Rev. He was born September 16, 1930 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Julius and Isabel (Chaplin) McBride.  He graduated from Minden High School in 1950 and from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln in 1956. 

On December 28, 1952 he married Erma D. Rihn in Gurley, NE. 

He is a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954. 

He owned and operated Minden Terminal Service, Inc. in Minden until his retirement.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men in Minden, Minden Lions Club, South Platte United Chambers of Commerce, Jaycees, and Petroleum Marketers Association and had served as chairman of the Minden All-Class Reunion. 

Bob enjoyed following his children’s and grandchildren’s activities, especially their sporting events. He also enjoyed travelling, often for Lions conventions.
