Ruby L. Johnson, age 92, of Ravenna, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Mt. Carmel Home in Kearney. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Cairo United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jeff Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cairo. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and also from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the church in Cairo. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Cairo, care of the family. A message of condolence, tribute, or memory may be sent to www.hlmkfuneral.com. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services of Kearney is in charge of arrangements.

 

Ruby was born December 23, 1917 in Grand Island to Henry and Dora (Putscher) Meyer. She attended and later graduated from Cairo High School. She married Raymond Earl Johnson on June 7, 1942 in Ravenna. She enjoyed bowling league, her Bluff Center card clubs and also the St. Michael Thimble club and St. Michael Kitten Ball. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
